To do this, one player will need to have an Xbox Live Gold account, and both players will need to set up an Xbox Live profile. There are also online co-op options if you want to battle with players from around the world. Both players will then be able to join, and both controllers will be used to control separate characters.
To start a local two-player Cuphead, one player just needs to choose “Local Co-op” on the main menu. You can work together to beat levels or compete against each other in the Run and Gun sections of the game.
Up to two players can play Cuphead together on the Xbox One or Xbox One S.
